HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR PERSONALIZED SHOPPER

Discover the key points for creating winning packaging.

CHOICE OF MODEL: MANUAL

The manual model represents the most precious and versatile version of paper shopping bags. Achievable in various types and weights of paper, it ensures sturdiness also given by the reinforcing cardboard applied on the bottom and on the flaps. The multiplicity of elements that distinguish the manual bag allows, by varying its characteristics and combination, to obtain a highly recognizable packaging product. This type of shopper, prepared manually, can also be available in the box model, which provides a top closure via flaps fixed in special side slots, or in the models with flap, closed by interlocking or by a ribbon.

THE CHOICE OF MODEL: AUTOMATIC

The automatic shopper is a packaging solution that allows you to promote your brand at a low cost. It is entirely made of paper, including the handles, which can be flat or twisted paper, possibly covered in yarn. To make the automatic shopper, various types of paper are available in various weights and you can opt for the folded-up model to obtain greater resistance.

THE CHOICE OF FORMAT

The automatic model can be made in various standard formats, designed to adapt to the needs of different sectors. For example, wide-bottom models designed specifically for take-away are available. The manual envelope, however, offers the maximum possibility of customization also in the format. The choice of format, or formats, is based first of all on practicality with respect to the product for which the envelope is intended. At the same time, particular attention is also paid to the aesthetics resulting from the proportions between the measurements. Regardless of the model, you can opt for a horizontal or vertical development of the envelope, playing on the relationship between the base and the height. The size of the gusset is also an element not to be underestimated, helping to give the envelope a more or less slender effect.

THE TYPE OF PAPER

In the vast assortment of existing types of paper, it is mainly taste that guides the choice, starting from the sensation given to sight and touch. Among the standard proposals, you can opt for a smooth kraft paper, available in both white and brown, or for a single-coated one, or even for recycled papers. To embellish the shopper starting from the raw material, you can choose a more refined paper, such as a paste dye, or enrich it with embossing or lamination (glossy, matt or soft touch). Laminating the paper is not just an aesthetic choice, in fact, the laminated envelope is also more resistant. As regards robustness, a particularly relevant characteristic is, obviously, the weight of the paper.

THE PRINT

Printing can be achieved through various techniques, used individually or in combination with each other. Flexographic and offset printing allow you to create solid backgrounds and colored graphics, in four-color or pantone. The first technique uses a rubber cliché through which the colored polymers are directly imprinted on the paper. The second, however, is achieved through an indirect process and allows for very high definition to be achieved. The shopper can then be embellished with a hot, embossed or UV finish, created on the logo or other graphic details. Hot stamping consists of the impression of a foil, with a pastel or metallic effect, through a cliché. The relief does not add color to the envelope, but gives an effect that is recognizable to the eye and touch. Finally, UV screen printing gives depth to the detail and its rendering can be opaque or glossy.

HANDLES & DETAILS

The handle has an indispensable practical function and, at the same time, a notable impact on the aesthetics of the shopper. While for automatic envelopes everything is mainly based on colour, the creation of a manual envelope allows you to fully exploit this element in favor of the image you want to obtain, being able to choose colour, dimensions and materials. In addition to the cotton or ppl rope, in fact, you can choose an alternative handle, for example in satin, grosgrain or ribbon. Furthermore, various options for setting up the handles are possible, including the concealed application and the more classic 4-knot application. Once the main components of the envelope have been defined, it is possible to enrich them with various details. For example, you can close the shopper with a bow by applying central laces inserted into the fold of the lapel, or by making a hole or a buttonhole through which a ribbon can pass.
